Unitarian
God is one entity, Jesus is the savior and was inspired by God.
Unitarians often accuse Mainline Christians of not teaching a monotheistic God, but a three-headed false one. Many will tell you: We have the truth, Jesus was an inspired Prophet from God, but not God. There are different types of Unitarians; Jesus can be worshipped by some and not others. The pre-existence of Christ is another split among them.
Dr. Arius did not agree with the strict views at all, but all views agree; God is one person and Jesus was the son of God. Some conservative Unitarians are opposed to the Trinity, often times criticising the Trinity and the followers.
Ariun Unitarianism; God the father existed before the son of God. Arius thought Logos had a beginning and the Son, therefore, was not eternal, the Logos being the mightiest of creation.
Strict Arians do not ascribe any divinity at all or preexistence to Christ, like The Way International
Core beliefs;
*The Oneness of God
*Authors of the Bible were inspired by God, but human and subject to error.
*No religious sect has the 100% correct theology.
*Human nature is capable of doing good or bad- we were borne neutral.
*Logic, science, philosophy, and scholarship are all highly accepted.
*The earthly ministry of Jesus- inspired moral lessons.
*Eternal torment does not exist.
*Dislike Church Creeds and dogmatic prospectives.
This list; general mainline of beliefs we see used through Unitarians.
In the Text; the canonical Unitarians must alter the Greek in John because the gospel teaches Incarnation Christology. Huge theological clash, so some tricky work is needed to harmonize this theological conflict.
John 1King James Version (KJV)
1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
New World Translation.
" In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a god."
The Way International Literal Translation
"In the beginning was the Word God,and the [revealed] Word was with [pros] God [with Him in His foreknowledge, yet independent of Him], and the Word was God."
looking through their translations we see; twisting Greek grammar into preconceived ideas, supplying an article in English attempting to justify this action by butchering Greek composition. Others fill in the blanks using words and phrases inside of brackets, again tampering with Greek. The author of Johns gospel is to complex for some modern-day scholars. The narrator was a theologian, trained in Greek composition and not teaching what these people want him to be teaching.
Paraphrase for this page
"Before beginning Thee Logos has always existed, and Thee Logos will always be face-to-face with Thee God, and God will always be Thee Logos."
Expanding on the Greek word "een" [was] in the imperfect tense; this word destroyed all that planning they did along with their translations. Johns usage of the eternal verb is no joke, this author was not that sloppy, many people today have a problem with Johns scholarship.
