Apocalyptic

   The first Jewish Apocalyptic lit. is said to be Book of Watchers (Aramaic ×¢Ö´×™×¨Ö´×™×Ÿ,iyrin), 1Enoch 1-36.  The first Apocalyptic lit. we see in the Tanakh is Danial. Apocalyptic lit. is written with imagination, symbolism, poetry, using the Tanakhs prophetic style. Apocapltyc writers became very popular in the early years of millennialist Christianity. The narrator of marks account edited apocalyptic literature into his narration, chapter 13.

Apocalypticism

  Religious belief; the end of the world is imminent during their life. Let us look at some well-known names in the Bible,  people that were apocalyptic in faith.
* Jesus
* Paul

  The gospels portray Jesus as an apocalyptic prophet, the son of humankind to rule as Lord over the twelve tribes.

  Matthew 16:28 â–ºNew International Version
"Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom."
  Luke 9:27 â–ºNew International Version
"Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God."
 Mark 9:1King James Version (KJV)

  "And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power."

Mark 13:30
  "Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened."

  It is evident; the canonical Jesus is portrayed as apocalyptic, and to be crowned as the Lord of the twelve tribes "during his lifetime."

Paul was apocalyptic in faith we see this through his authentic epistle of Thessalonians around 45-51 C.E.  The first gospel narrated was Mark around 60-65 C.E.

1 Thessalonians 4:17  King James Bible
  "Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."

  Through the words "
we which are alive and remain,"  Paul includes himself with the followers. The present tense of the words "we," "are," "alive," "remain"  clearly indicates Paul as apocalyptic in thinking.

 Dualistic View of the World -- there are two forces in the world; the Forces of good and of evil, every person is associated with one or the other. History is seen dualistically and the current time lived in, is an evil administration.  Suffering is the evil forces controlling this world, but a new age is coming when God triumphs over the evil forces to establish his kingdom on earth.

  The coming kingdom was imminent, very soon,  God was coming to overthrow the forces of evil.
